Plain language is to be used during transmissions. 10-codes or ‘CB jargon’ are not acceptable.
Keep contacts brief and to the point as other users may need to use the repeater. ‘Ragchewing’ is prohibited.
DO NOT call for ‘radio checks’ on this system. Transmit your callsign and say ‘monitoring’ or ‘listening’. If you ‘hit the repeater’, you will hear a courtesy tone followed by 1 to 2 second squelch tail when un keying your radio. More than likely, you are ‘getting into the repeater’ with no issues.
Likewise, if you are testing your radio, please switch to a different channel.
THIS SYSTEM WILL NOT BE USED TO CONDUCT BUSINESS OPERATIONS. While 'personal and business activities' are legal for GMRS/FRS users under FCC Part 95.1731, we ask that you do not utilize this system for business purposes.
When beginning a transmission, you must start with your callsign and end with your callsign when your conversation is finished with the other station (i.e., "WABC123 calling WXYZ234. . This is WXYZ234, go ahead. . " . . and so on).
You must transmit using wide band deviation (20/25 kHz). Consult your radio's manual to set this up correctly.
Please disable any ‘roger beeps’ or ‘call alerts’ when keying or un keying your transmitter.
If you use ANI (automatic number identification), please program your radio to transmit the ANI upon release of the push to talk button (post PTT). MDC1200 is preferred. Fleetsync, GE-Star or MODAT is accepted with the last three digits of your callsign programmed.
DTMF ANI is NOT ACCEPTED and users will be banned from this system if it is utilized.
Please do not transmit over the top and bottom of the hour scheduled announcements.
